Corbett was accepting money for his campaign from the Second Mile, board members of the Second Mile, and the Board of Trustees- all while dragging his feet with the Sandusky investigation. He didn't want to burn those money bridges during his campaign, because apparently his campaign came before harm of victims. But let's blame a dead guy, because he did EXACTLY what hundreds of Pennsylvania school teachers do every year when they have evidence of child abuse- they take it to their superiors.

A straight top 4 sounds good, but there is some arbitrariness when comparing the #4 team against the #5 team. SImilar to now when we compare the #2 team with the #3 team.

A positive step would be to institute some tie-breakers for these two bubble teams. THAT is what fans want, a process that is more cut-and-dried than our current witch's brew of polls.

My recommendation:
a) If only one of the bubble teams won their conference, then they make the playoffs
b) If one team has less losses than the other, then they make the playoff
c) If one team has lost to the other OR to their potential playoff opponent, then the other team will make the playoff
d) if all else fails defer back to the polls

Comparing #2 to #3 the last 13 years, the #3 team gets in only twice. This points mostly to the fact that pollsters are already generating some version of these tie-breakers because they KNOW their vote directly affects the National Championship. For example, in 2006 most pollsters thought Michigan was still better than Florida after their Ohio State loss. BUT, they jumped Michigan because they did not want a rematch and preferred a team that won their conference. It would be better if polls were more honest and we had transparent cut-and-dried tie-breakers.

If we don't apply a set of tie-breakers like this then we will see MORE poll manipulation. Pollsters will inflate Oregon over Stanford because they beat the Cardinal and won the Pac-12. Maybe Boise will get undue love from pollsters hoping to put a BCS Buster into the playoffs. LIMIT the power of the polls by adding tie-breakers.

As a side note, I am for 3 conference champions and reserving the last spot for the top team remaining (Alabama). Even more I am for a play-in game for that last spot (Alabama vs. Stanford) on Championship Saturday; this would also make current championship games MUST-WIN games; LSU can't lose to Georgia and still sneak into the National Championship; the SEC Championship IS their defacto play-in game.

Rijo Walker is a rising junior who played as a true freshman and started 2 games this past season and had an Interception in a 3 point win vs Indiana. I think that is more experience than the other mentioned and could have been noted.
